The Parental Advisory Label (PAL) has long been the industry standard among record labels since its introduction in 1990. Its unmistakable "Parental Advisory Explicit Content" in big, bold letters has been the hallmark of advisories for works that contain potentially offensive language. The PAL is widely recognized as the traditional warning label to the public and retail stores.

However, despite efforts to establish legislation requiring the PAL on works with offensive language, it still isn't mandatory to this day.

E Explicit

Music with lyrics or other media content associated with it that have one or more instances of a "hard" swear word or derogatory slur or three or more instances of "soft" swear words. In addition to swear words, works centered around:

sexual/lascivious  acts

violence

incitation

drug and/or alcohol abuse

may be classified as Explicit as well.

S Sensitive

Music with lyrics or other media content associated with it centered around or alluding to otherwise, controversial topics, divisiveness, traumas, self-harm, or death.

SE Sensitive/Explicit

Music with lyrics or other media content associated with it containing or centered around a combination of the above two criteria.

We value our Artists' creative freedom in their works, but there is zero tolerance for content with hate speech or rape and sexual assault.
